Managing Documents

Uploading a Document

Click on the relevant pending document field, then either drag and drop your file or use Select File / the upload icon to browse for it. A preview is shown before you confirm — press Upload to complete.

To upload multiple documents to the same field, repeat the process — each uploaded file appears on the left alongside any previously uploaded documents.

Previewing a Document

Press the magnifying glass icon on any document field to open a preview. Press the cross in the top-right corner to close it and return to the case.

Downloading a Document

Press the down arrow on the right-hand side of the document field to download it to your device.

Deleting a Document

Press the cross in the top-right corner of the document field to remove it.

Password Protected Documents

If a document is password protected, the document icon will show a question mark. Request the password from your client via chat and record it in the Product Notes section of the case for future reference.

Case Documents

The Case Documents section is for compliance documents you want to keep on file. These are not visible to clients. Drag and drop or upload files directly into this section.

AI Document Checking

When a document is uploaded, Surecase automatically runs an AI check in the background. An icon appears on the document request showing the current status:

  • Grey — checks are in progress
  • Blue — all checks passed
  • Red — one or more checks failed

Click the icon to open the results panel, which shows what was checked and why it passed or failed. Two things are checked where applicable:

  • Document type — does the uploaded document match what was requested (e.g. a passport, bank statement)?
  • Name — does the document contain the client’s name?

If the result looks wrong, use the Incorrect (Hide) button to dismiss it, or Helpful to confirm it was useful. Note that the AI only works on documents that are oriented upright, and as with any AI system, results should be verified for important documents.

AI document checking needs to be enabled for your organisation. Contact us at get in touch to get set up.

Sending Documents to a Client

Use the Upload Documents to Client tab to send documents directly to a client. Documents are sent to individual clients rather than all clients on the case. The client will find them in their documents section when they next sign in.
